I have fabric hoarding issues. I want to keep EVERYTHING, even the scraps. Here’s a little peek at some of my scrap hoard:
Note that these are SCRAPS, not proper pieces of fabric. I’ve decided that it’s high time for me to declutter my life. This week, I worked on using some fabric scraps – because throwing them away is just crazy talk.
Simplicity 1601 is one of my $1 pattern sale finds. I’m not a flower kind of girl, but I thought these might be cute for various crafts (and for my niece’s hair, when she grows some!).
Today, I worked on J, K, and L.
I followed the instructions (for once) and did lots of hand stitching. I only cheated a little with some hot glue to attach the flower bases and keep everything together.
This flower should look familiar to Mom – the scraps were left over from some napkins I made for her.
The pattern called for beads or pearls in the center of this flower, but I went for a button instead. Might as well use up some of those, too!
These flowers are quite simple to make. Most require hand stitching, but only gathering stitches, which are quick and easy.
What are your go-to projects for scrap busting? I need to liquidate!
