No, I haven’t bumped my head. Even though I’m not what you would call a “baby person,” I am happy for my brother and his wife, who are preparing for the birth of my niece in March. I’m getting a jump start on this aunt thing by making some clothes for her. In fact, three of my 2013 goal projects are baby clothes.
I tackled this one first. View A (the bunting with the hood) is my favorite, but I decided to try one without the hood (version B) first.
This sweet flannel print caught my eye from across the room at the fabric store. I like that it’s feminine without being cutesy.
Is it bad that I kind of want one of these in my size? It would be a sleeping bag with arms. A Snuggie 2.0.
Anyway, my first baby garment was fairly successful. Next up, view A of this pattern, followed by some diaper covers.

Wow! That is just beautiful. I’m so proud of you!
Awww. Thank you, Dad.
Super cute, and I love the fabric! You did a wonderful job
Thanks, bud!
This is so cute! I love sewing for my nieces, babies are so much easier to fit than adults!
Thank you so much. It was interesting to sew something baby-size. I almost wish I’d learned to sew by doing a miniature garment first. It’s so much easier to understand how the pieces fit together when the pieces are tiny!
